Junior Doctors Academy Program Admissions

Please carefully read through the program options and eligibility requirements below before proceeding.

Students who come from culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse communities, as well as those who would become first in their family to attend college, are highly encouraged to apply.

This program is open to all current 6th grade students within 
Fresno County who meet the eligibility requirements.

For students who are applying outside of the Caruthers Unified School District boundaries, you will need to complete an out of district transfer once accepted to the program. Transportation is only provided for students who live within the Caruthers USD boundaries.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Student must be currently enrolled in 6th grade within a Fresno County school district
  • Students must have an interest in becoming a health professional (doctor, nurse, pharmacist, etc)
  • Student must have an interest in learning about the importance of serving the Central Valley of California
  • Student must have an interest in learning about culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse communities.
  • Student must earn a minimum 2.8 GPA or above through their 6th grade school year
  • Student must possess a commitment to maintain a 3.0 GPA or above throughout middle school.

This program is open to all current 6th grade students within the

Applications from students not currently attending a school site within Fresno Unified School District, will not be considered. Transportation is only provided within the regular bus routes, as determined by Fresno Unified School District.
