Fresno Unified Junior Doctors Academy is an elective. Please check with your counselor on how to register.

Please carefully read through the program options and eligibility requirements below before proceeding.

 

Site: Caruthers Elementary School,
Caruthers Unified School District

This program is open to all current 6th grade students within 
Fresno County who meet the eligibility requirements.

For students who are applying outside of the Caruthers Unified School District boundaries, you will need to complete an out of district transfer once accepted to the program. Transportation is only provided for students who live within the Caruthers USD boundaries.

Eligibility Requirements:
  • Student must be currently enrolled in 6th grade within a Fresno County school district
  • Students must have an interest in becoming a health professional (doctor, nurse, pharmacist, etc)
  • Student must have an interest in learning about the importance of serving the Central Valley of California
  • Student must have an interest in learning about culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse communities.
  • Student must earn a minimum 2.8 GPA or above through their 6th grade school year
  • Student must possess a commitment to maintain a 3.0 GPA or above throughout middle school.

This program is open to all current 6th and 7th grade students within the 
Fresno Unified School District who meet the eligibility requirements.

This program is an elective choice in partnership with the University of California, San Francisco (Fresno Regional Campus) that is open to all current 6th and 7th grade students within the Fresno Unified School District who meet the eligibility requirements. Students must be an enrolled student in one of the partnering middle schools to participate.


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Student must be currently enrolled in 6th grade within the Fresno Unified School District
  • Students must have an interest in becoming a health professional (doctor, nurse, pharmacist, etc)
  • Student must have an interest in learning about the importance of serving the Central Valley of California
  • Student must have an interest in learning about culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse communities.
  • Student should maintain good academic standing through their 6th grade school year to match the rigor of the course
  • Student must possess a commitment to maintain a 3.0 GPA or above throughout middle school.
