Who should attend:
Registration is only open to students currently enrolled in the Junior Doctors Academy, the Doctors Academy, and their parent/guardian; plus invited pathway students in partnering school sites. Siblings may attend but childcare is not provided.

Explore Healthcare: Hands-On Medical Skills
Curious about what healthcare professionals do? Join CHSU medical students for an interactive introduction to the world of medicine. Through fun, hands-on simulation stations, students will explore medical skills, learn how healthcare teams care for patients, and discover some of the many possibilities a future in healthcare can offer.

Operation Labubu: Mass Casualty Challenge
A giant Labubu has attacked! This mass-casualty simulation, inspired by a Labubu “attack,” gives student “first responders” a hands-on chance to assist “victims” with wound care, CPR, head trauma, sprains, and more. Plus, American Ambulance will explain their lifesaving role in emergency situations and have an ambulance to explore. There is no need to fear—everyone will be saved!

Step Into Healthcare: Medical Student Simulation Experience
Ever wondered what it’s like to be a medical student? Get inspired as CHSU medical students guide you through interactive, hands-on simulation stations where you’ll practice medical skills and experience firsthand what it takes to step into the world of healthcare. Students will rotate through four medical simulation activities and have an opportunity to connect with current medical students.

Scan and Stitch it Up!
Get ready for a dual activity designed to introduce you to basic surgical techniques using surgical tools and simulated blood that mirrors real-life medical procedures paired with Point of Care Ultrasound. This guided session goes beyond observation, allowing students to practice precision, focus, and problem-solving skills that healthcare professionals use every day.

Feeding Smarts: Busting Nutrition Myths for Families
This engaging session, led by a registered dietitian nutritionist, helps families cut through the noise of conflicting nutrition messages. Learn what dietitians do and how their expertise differs from online “nutrition influencers,” while, highlighting the importance of balanced, science-based eating. Families will walk away with strategies for identifying trustworthy sources of nutrition information, debunk common diet fads and myths with practical tools to make informed, confident food choices.

Fentanyl in Our Community: What Every Parent Needs to Know
Fentanyl is affecting communities and families everywhere, and knowing the facts can help save a life. In this important workshop, parents will hear firsthand insights from a Fresno Police Department detective, learn about the risks and warning signs associated with fentanyl, and participate in hands-on naloxone (Narcan) training. Parents will leave with practical information, resources, and the confidence to respond in an emergency.

What to do before calling 911?
Emergency often strikes when we are least expecting it. This session would include practical tips on what to do before an ambulance arrives. Session may include hands-on practice of CPR, maneuvers for choking, how to control bleeding, and the use of an Epi pen.
